John Luca Becker is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York with over 15 years of experience in structural design, construction management, and forensic analysis. His background includes extensive experience designing, analyzing, and evaluating new and existing residential, industrial, and commercial structures. John's engineering experience includes the design and analysis of support of excavation systems, concrete shoring/re-shoring designs, and various building materials, including structural steel, masonry, and reinforced concrete.
As a project manager for a general contractor, he worked on various large-scale projects in New York City, such as the 1 Wall Street restoration project, 111 W. 57th Street, and the MTA East Side Access Project. His construction experience also includes overseeing the construction and restoration of multi-unit supportive housing, working with NYCDOB, NYCHA, FDNY, and various non-profit organizations. Additionally, his background in construction includes façade restoration, waterproofing, and building envelope construction.
John specializes in resolving building envelopes and civil, geotechnical, and structural engineering incidents. His expertise encompasses a wide range of investigations, including but not limited to assessments of damage caused by wind, snow, hurricanes, rain, tornadoes, fires, vibrations, subsidence, and vehicular impacts.
John graduated from Hofstra University with a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering and a minor in Mathematics.
