Read MoreJoel Bailey is a Chartered Occupational Hygiene Professional with 20 years of experience in the Asbestos and Industrial Hygiene sector. He has extensive experience in consultancy related to asbestos management and compliance and possesses professional knowledge of exposure and control management for dust, fumes, and particulate exposure in the workplace. Joel has expertise in respirable crystalline silica, diesel fumes, toxic gases, welding fumes, working with lead and other heavy metals, and the hardwood working industry.
Joel has intimate knowledge of the processes and procedures for working on London Underground and Network Rail. He understands safety-critical environments and their risks, whether in the transport industry, power stations, or heavy manufacturing sites. His experience includes managing and responding to emergencies from an Occupational Health perspective, such as fires, train derailments, and terrorist attacks. Joel also has a detailed understanding of QA/QC, UKAS, and their requirements to achieve and maintain accreditation to Technical Standards ISO17020 & ISO17025.
Joel has achieved the highest Occupational Hygiene and Asbestos Qualifications in the UK. He is a Project Director within the Industrial Hygiene & the Built Environment service line in J.S. Held's Environmental, Health & Safety practice. His extensive site and fieldwork experience throughout his career enables him to quickly assess, analyze, and implement appropriate controls from an Occupational Health perspective. Joel has experience managing and responding to emergency loss situations, including contamination assessment and personal exposure.
Joel holds an MChem, a Master's in Environmental Chemistry, from Lancaster University in the UK. He completed a one-year exchange at the University of Alberta in Alberta, Canada. His project geographical experience includes Europe and the UK.
