James Murphy is a technical consultant who provides technical consulting services for commercial property insurance claims, such as damage assessment, the feasibility of repair versus replacement, comparable replacement analysis/estimates, actual cash value estimates, production impact resolution, and claim evaluation. Leading areas of practice are Electronics, Information Technologies, Semiconductors, Telecommunications, Mechanical Systems, and other specialized equipment.

Mr. Murphy has a Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University in Computer Science. He began his career at American Telephone & Telegraph as a software developer and went on to be a lead technical support specialist focusing on problem investigation, root cause determination, and problem resolution implementation for platform-specific applications and system software. At IBM, one of his main functions was the administration of the IBM Websphere MQ Series, which included providing expertise on MQ series installation, configuration, performance and tuning, capacity planning, testing, and troubleshooting for MQ on mainframes, Unix, AS400, Linux, and Windows platforms. As a consultant to the insurance industry, Jim's areas of concentration include information technology and telecommunications. He has over ten years of insurance consulting experience.
