James Beix specializes in food-related emergency responses including foodborne outbreak investigations, product traceback investigations, product recall management, and recall efficacy checks. With nearly 20 years of experience, Jim has led food-related emergency responses at the municipal, county, and statewide levels as well as coordinated state responses within a federal response framework. He has also managed and coordinated the food and recreational safety consumer complaint system for the State of Wisconsin.
Jim has served on national workgroups developing best practices for federal and state regulatory agency integration during food recalls, shopper purchase history usage during foodborne outbreak responses, and dead-end ultra-filtration water sampling practices during foodborne outbreak responses.
Jim holds a Master of Public Health with an emphasis in infection disease epidemiology and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology. He is credentialled as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist by the National Environmental Health Association.
Jim has nearly 20 years of experience in municipal, state, and coordination with federal food and recreation facility regulators. Jim is involved in foodborne, waterborne, and other infectious disease outbreak responses. He has worked with retail food, manufactured food, recreational waters, and lodging facilities. Jim has coordinated regulatory food product recalls involving chemical, microbial, and physical hazards.
