Jadine Semanske is an Environmental Scientist/Industrial Hygienist with J.S. Held. Jadine is a Certified Industrial Hygienist. She holds a BSc in Toxicology from the University of Toronto and an MSc in Occupational and Environmental Hygiene from the University of British Columbia.
Jadine has a strong science background and close to fifteen years of experience supporting toxicology and industrial hygiene projects in a deadline-based consulting environment. She works on projects related to human and environmental toxicology, exposure assessment, and risk assessments. Jadine critically reviews, evaluates, summarizes, and compiles information from a variety of sources, including court documents, depositions, medical records, industrial hygiene data, and scientific literature. Her project experience includes review and interpretation of published toxicology literature for the development of toxicity factors for use in the risk assessment of various compounds; review of federal and state regulatory guidance; database development; and indoor air quality sampling and interpretation. Her projects have involved asbestos and mold litigation, volatile organic compounds, pesticides, diacetyl, and butter flavoring, oil spill response claims, odor thresholds, review of historical textbooks pertaining to state-of-the-art medical and occupational health and safety knowledge, and environmental consulting for mold and water damage in response to the Texas Windstorm.
Jadine has worked on research projects pertaining to noise and hearing loss in the food and beverage, agriculture, and entertainment industries, as an industrial hygienist at an infectious disease laboratory (Biosafety Levels 2 to 4), and as a toxicologist at a pharmaceutical manufacturing company.
Jadine is a member of the Society of Toxicology and the Pacific Northwest Association of Toxicologists.
