Ibrahim Afify is a Civil Engineer and Delay Analyst with over eight years of experience in project planning, delay analysis, construction claims preparation, and defense.
Ibrahim briefly started his quantity surveyor career before becoming a planning engineer for a mega-scale construction and engineering company. Ibrahim has held project planning positions with contractors and consultants in Egypt and has begun providing freelancing consultancy to clients worldwide. His experience across a wide range of projects and locations has given him a valuable and flexible ability to respond to the many issues faced on today’s increasingly complex projects.
His experience spans several international markets, with clients in the UAE, KSA, Qatar, USA, UK, Australia, and Malaysia.
Ibrahim’s key skill is delay analysis and the preparation and defense of claims for extensions of time, prolongation, acceleration, and disruption. He has experience employing the industry delay analysis standards advocated by the AACE, the SCL protocol, and others. He has prepared prospective and retrospective delay analyses using Impacted As-Planned, Time Impact Analysis, Time Slice Windows, and various As-Built methods.
Ibrahim is bilingual, with excellent written and oral abilities in Arabic and English. This skill and his legal qualification allow him to work closely with local and international law firms to provide technical construction advice on litigation disputes in the Middle East Courts, particularly delay analysis.
