Greg Perez, PE is a construction consultant specializing in building enclosures, surety, construction claim analysis, and construction project management. While at J.S. Held, Greg has experience in performance and payment bond claim reviews, loss analysis, subcontractor ratification negotiations, coordinating project rebids, managing contracts for takeover and completion, project management, and monitoring. His consultation experience spans various construction claims/disputes for all types and sizes of public and private construction involving sureties, insurance companies, contractors, and attorneys.
Prior to working at J.S. Held, Greg worked at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. as a Senior Consulting Engineer, providing building enclosure consultation services for projects of various sizes and complexity. Greg’s project experience includes design consulting on new and existing buildings for various building envelope systems, including basement waterproofing, plaza waterproofing, cement plaster, stone and metal cladding systems, curtain wall and glazing, and roofing membranes. His other experience also includes water leakage investigations, condition assessments of existing building envelopes, and repair and rehabilitation design of those components.
Additionally, Greg has experience in structural engineering design, which involves performing calculations and producing construction documents for light-frame wood structures and permanent earth retention systems.
Greg is a Senior Consultant in J.S. Held’s Surety Practice in the West Region. His responsibilities include project management, change order evaluations, bond claim reviews, owner representation support, onsite project monitoring, and building envelope expertise.
