Erica Plaisance is an environmental and safety specialist with extensive project experience in assessing indoor and outdoor air quality, water quality, soil contamination, fire and smoke damage, water and mold damage, asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint, Chinese drywall, and other contaminants. Her role involves initial and follow-up field assessments, sample collection and data interpretation, research, and developing audits, reports, scopes of work, restoration/remediation protocols, and operations/maintenance plans. Erica also handles project monitoring, document review, and project management.
Erica has experience in numerous catastrophe and emergency response projects, including the Cumberland River Flood (2010), Napa Earthquake (2014), Baton Rouge Flood (2016), Hurricane Matthew (2016), Denver Hailstorm (2017), Marco Polo Condominium Fire (2017), Hurricane Harvey (2017), Hurricane Michael (2018), Hurricane Dorian (2019), Hurricanes Laura, Sally, Beta, Delta, and Zeta (2020), Winter Storms Uri and Viola (2021), Hurricane Ida (2021), Hurricane Ian (2022), East Palestine Ohio Train Derailment (2023), and Porto Alegre Floods (2024). Her additional experience includes Phase I environmental assessments, historical preservation, occupational safety assessments, in-plant industrial hygiene services, litigation support, and indoor air cleaning technologies research.
In her role, Erica is involved in project management, site assessment and evaluation, production and review of deliverables, on-site project monitoring, and PRV assessment and sampling. She has extensive involvement in major loss assignments across the United States, The Bahamas, Brazil, and the United Kingdom, consulting on large complex insurance losses for airports, condominiums, hospitals, malls, and warehouses.
