Ms. Wohlfarth’s background is focused on forensic and water resources engineering. Her forensic engineering work involves building envelope inspections, most notably of foundations, steep-sloped and low-sloped roof systems, ceiling collapses, deflected flooring, and moisture intrusions. The purpose of these forensic evaluations is primarily to determine the cause and origin of structural failures. Ms. Wohlfarth has experience inspecting staircases to determine code compliance for slip/trip and fall claims. Ms. Wohlfarth’s forensic engineering experience also includes a focus on pipeline condition assessment, employing ultrasonic leak detection and electromagnetic inspection technology to determine the cause of pipeline failures as well as to predict future catastrophic pipeline failures.
During Ms. Wohlfarth’s water resources engineering work, she contributed her research to the development of the Northern Everglades Technical Plan, performed structural analyses to determine the extent of cracking within the Tampa Bay Reservoir, and collected monitoring well data to determine the economic and technical feasibility of an aquifer as a water supply in Sarasota, Florida. In Texas, Ms. Wohlfarth analyzed water supply sources and availability throughout the state. She has worked alongside municipalities to monitor and assess wastewater pipelines in Maryland. She was also part of a team chosen by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission in Maryland to address a sanitary sewer overflow consent decree set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency.
