Ed is a quantity surveyor with more than two decades of experience. With a strong cost and commercial background, he has been appointed as an expert witness and has experience in both arbitration and adjudication proceedings.
Through his experience in the analysis of complex commercial, contractual, and management problems on major construction projects, Ed has developed expertise in dispute avoidance and resolution, including claim preparation and claims defense.
Ed has undertaken a wide variety of projects and worked with a diverse range of clients across various sectors including residential property, commercial property, hotels, retail, leisure, water, highways, data centers, and aviation.
Project commissions have been diverse in terms of type, complexity, value, procurement route, and contractual arrangement. They have ranged from large city center retail and leisure developments, prime London office developments, luxury residential developments in the south of France, airport terminals, and various other projects including demolition, fire insurance valuations, and building refurbishments.
Experience has been gained on most forms of contract, including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, contractor designed, management, and bespoke forms and Ed has worked in various countries and jurisdictions including Belgium, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, France, Aruba, Qatar, UAE, Oman, and KSA.
Other key experience includes due diligence and fund monitoring on behalf of developers and funders. Ed has also delivered contract training to a number of client organizations as well as on behalf of the RICS.
Ed is involved in contractual support, quantity surveying, and quantum expert witness services. He has extensive experience across various sectors and across different global regions and jurisdictions.
