David Jimenez is a Civil Engineer with experience in structural engineering of high-rise and mid-rise buildings attending wind and seismic loads, as well as construction, evaluation, and retrofit of existing buildings in various materials, including concrete, masonry, wood, and steel. In the forensic field, David has provided the scope of damage evaluations, conducted investigations, cause and origin analyses, site inspections, post-earthquake, and post-hurricane assessments, including failure/collapse analysis engineering services in residential, hospitality, commercial, energy, and infrastructure projects throughout North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America. David is also versed in seismic retrofit and evaluation of existing buildings using ASCE 41 standards.

David’s background also encompasses providing property consultative services, performing site inspections, and investigating the cause / effect of major losses due to structural, civil, infrastructure, and natural catastrophes, damages, and failures. David’s experience includes structural engineering and design for demolition engineering, temporary stabilization of structures, emergency structural response, structural repair and retrofit design, structural forensic investigation, litigation support, and risk loss consulting of residential, retail, office, hospitality, parking, and mixed-use structures. David has been the team leader for the Forensic Architecture & Engineering practice group in Latin America. As an Area Lead, David has been responsible for peer-reviewing all the reports, exhibits, and calculations performed by the team to ensure quality and reliability of results.

David has been involved in building and structure assessments and evaluations, retrofits, report writing, and onsite project site inspections. He has extensive involvement in numerous major loss assignments throughout the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean, serving insurance companies, reinsurers, adjusters, property owners, and representative attorneys. As an Area Lead, David has been responsible for peer-reviewing all the reports, exhibits, and calculations performed by the team to ensure quality and reliability of results.
