David Drengenberg is a Senior Structural Engineer and Central Region Lead at J.S. Held, with extensive experience in forensic engineering work related to buildings and civil infrastructure throughout the United States, Canada, the US Virgin Islands, the United Kingdom, France, Qatar, Australia, Malaysia, and Thailand. His projects have included the investigation of design and construction deficiencies involving defect documentation, analysis, conceptual repair development, repair implementation, and quality oversight. Other projects have focused on investigating and correlating structural and cladding damage attributable to wind, snow, fire, and earth pressures. David has also assisted in developing and implementing safety recommendations and code revisions related to high-rise construction in New York City.
David has provided expert opinions on civil infrastructure failures, construction defects, standard of care, and design defects. His expert testimony has included written opinions, deposition testimony, and trial testimony related to collapse, construction defects, wind damage, and design defects.
David received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
