Read MoreChristopher Bruce joined J.S. Held in March of 2022 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of Ocean Tomo. Mr. Bruce is a Director of Advisory Services, working from the Chicago Headquarters of Ocean Tomo, a part of J.S. Held. Advisory Services is comprised of Transaction Advisory, Investments, and non-securities Investment Banking. Mr. Bruce holds the FINRA Series 7 and 63 license. Mr. Bruce plays an integral role in supporting the firm's work on behalf of clients in the areas of IP-driven transactions, mergers and acquisitions, IP monetization strategy as well as IP-based special situations investments.
Prior to joining Ocean Tomo, he worked for Global IP Law Group, supporting patent licensing campaigns in a number of technology areas including Telecommunications, Internet of Things, Consumer Electronics, Internet Applications, and Online Advertising, among others. He also quantified economic damages arising from intellectual property disputes as well as provided other general litigation support.
Mr. Bruce holds a Juris Doctor cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago. Mr. Bruce is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Intellectual Property Owners (IPO), and the Illinois Technology Association.
