Carolyn Seaquist joined J.S. Held in September of 2024 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of ADS Forensics.

Carolyn's expertise includes economic loss and damages quantification, economic research, forensic investigation, and critiques of other expert reports in both personal injury and commercial contexts.

Carolyn is a former partner with one of Canada’s leading litigation and valuation firms and has worked in forensic and litigation accounting since 1994. Her expertise includes quantifying economic loss and damages, conducting economic research, conducting forensic investigations, and critiquing other expert reports in personal injury, employment, family, and commercial contexts.

She developed and taught two postgraduate forensic and investigative accounting courses at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in its Forensic Accounting Program. In addition, she served as a volunteer member of Seneca’s Advisory Committee for the Forensic Accounting Program.

Carolyn also developed and presented lectures and seminars to various organizations within the legal community, including The Canadian Institute, Canadian Defence Lawyers, Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Thunder Bay Law Association, The Advocates’ Society, Law Society of Ontario, Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association and Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association. Topics included loss quantification methodologies, the role of an expert at trial, the impact of contingencies in personal injury cases, Accident Benefit claims (under SABS), the performance of forensic investigations, and math classes for lawyers. Carolyn demonstrated the advantages of securing litigation support and expert witness testimony while participating in several mock trials.

Carolyn frequently assisted counsel at mediations and pre-trial conferences and qualified numerous times to provide expert witness testimony in Ontario Superior Court.
