Brett Lardaro has extensive knowledge of on-site construction management, specializing in MEP subcontractor management. He also has significant experience in mechanical systems design and implementation.

Brett assists sureties in the buyout and completion of various construction projects, managing document control, monitoring construction progress, producing change order estimates, and estimating completion costs. His responsibilities have included scope development, bid proposal analyses, MEP drafting, commissioning turnover, punch list completion, equipment acquisition, and field supervision.

Prior to joining J.S. Held, Brett served as a Project Engineer for AECOM Tishman. From excavation to tenant turnover, he oversaw and assisted with managing MEP and interior subcontractors on a $390 million high-rise residential building and a $180 million luxury condominium building.

At J.S. Held, Brett is a Consultant in the Northeast Surety Practice. He has experience managing interior scopes of work, including quality control, buyouts, change order evaluation and negotiation, and coordination of trades. Brett has facilitated the management of multiple surety takeovers, completed scope reviews of sub and prime contracts to develop cost-to-complete (CTC) analyses, and conducted delay and escalation claim analyses. He has also performed QA/QC inspections on behalf of sureties and general contractors to assist in managing and closing out deficiency logs across these projects.

Brett holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus in Mechanical Engineering from the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University.
