Ben Troxler joined J.S. Held in March of 2022 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of Ocean Tomo. Mr Troxler joined Ocean Tomo, a part of J.S. Held, in 2012 after 10 years as a principal in Buttner Hammock & Company, P.A.’s litigation support practice. He participated in coordinated litigation consulting engagements with insurance regulators related to failed or troubled insurance companies and participated in dispute resolution engagements involving large insurance companies related to reinsurance matters and conflicts between insurance companies and governmental regulators related to tax and financial matters.
Prior to joining Buttner Hammock, Ben was associated with EY (formerly Ernst & Young) from 1972 to 2001; he was admitted to the partnership in 1983. He provided audit, tax, and consulting services to EY life insurance clients in the home service, interest-sensitive, and variable products segments serving as an engagement partner for several SEC registrants. He coordinated purchase accounting projects for several significant life insurance acquisitions. Ben serves as a consultant to certain EY international insurance clients relative to their conversions to U.S. accounting principles preparatory to U.S. securities registrations.
Ben received a BS-Accounting from Lipscomb University. He is a member of the AICPA and is a Fellow at Life Management Institute.
