Austin York has been an environmental consultant and field geologist since 2012. His primary expertise includes the characterization of impacted sites via various soil, groundwater, and air sampling techniques; providing oversight and direction of remedial activities such as underground storage tank removal, mass excavations, and in-situ remediation programs; and developing technical and regulatory reports.
Austin is a Project Geologist in the Liability, Monitoring, Assessment, and Remediation group. He manages field services for the group and has over ten years of experience collecting data for Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), remedial investigations, and implementing remedial cleanup actions. Austin also assists with engineering projects related to remediation system pilot testing, design, operation, maintenance, and optimization.
Austin is a certified underground storage tank (UST) Site Assessor in Washington. He has completed dozens of UST removal projects. He also provides extensive report writing experience, including proposal development, Phase I and II ESAs, remedial investigation, and feasibility studies, disproportionate cost analyses, excavation and drilling work plans, UST and Site closure reports, and cleanup action reports.
Austin received a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering in 2020 to merge his geology background with engineering-focused remediation projects. Since then, he has assisted in several projects, such as designing, operating, and maintaining remediation systems and chemical and biological augmentation/injection events.
