What truly differentiates J.S. Held is our people — world-class talent driven by a common set of core values. Together, these shared values inspire a culture of integrity, excellence, teamwork, and service.
Frank Antonucci Jr. joined J.S. Held in 2017 as part of the Antonucci Consulting Corporation acquisition. Based out of Wilton, Connecticut, he is a Vice President within the J.S. Held Building Consulting Practice. Frank serves as an area lead, managing 20 team members in the New England area, as well as working directly with clients on property damage losses, appraisals, and litigation support.
Three traits that describe Frank are calm, focused, and dedicated. “It’s especially good to be calm first and foremost,” he says. On any given day, a variety of projects can come along, and the excitement and scope associated with them can be immense. “I remind everyone that we approach all projects with the same level of attentiveness, coordination, and dedication. Keeping things in perspective always helps put everyone at ease.” Frank’s calm and collected outlook, combined with his focus and dedication, have been instrumental in his professional success.

“I’ve had the privilege to work alongside Frank for nearly four years. Amongst many admirable traits, few stand out more than his consistent commitment to excellence. Look no further than the fine team he leads, the relationships he’s built, his dedication to people, high-quality work product, and his representation of our firm. Frank deftly balances integrity, efficiency, and service – his commitment to people and excellence is unparalleled.”

Frank received his Bachelor’s in Business Management with a concentration in finance from Pace University. Despite having family in the construction industry, at that time, he initially went into finance, aiming to become a money manager or stockbroker. “I grew up in and around construction, but I got into finance and quickly found out that I didn’t enjoy it,” he says. “In 1998, when Hurricane George hit, I knew that my father’s business would soon be very busy, and that he was going to need the help, so I went to work for him.”
Frank acted as president of both Antonucci Consulting Corp. and Antonucci Consulting Inc. from 2013 to 2017. In addition to performing general contracting for the rebuilding and repair of property damage, he also acted as part-owner of an emergency mitigation firm, which was a joint venture started by him and his father in 2002.
“Jon Held brought me to J.S. Held after we had a nice lunch in the fall of 2017 on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, New York,” Frank recalls. “During our lunch, we talked about the opportunity for Antonucci Consulting Corp. to join J.S. Held, and here I am today.”
At J.S. Held, Frank says, he especially enjoys celebrating the everyday victories with his team members. “Exceeding expectations, even if it is just sending a ROM a day or two before it is due, is one of the small ‘wins’ that we take pride in. I enjoy coaching and mentoring my team, making sure they have the tools to be confident in their role. I also enjoy the interaction with the people in this industry as I’m acquainted with generations of clients, competitors, and colleagues, whom I consider friends.”
Frank’s subject matter expertise is consulting on matters involving property damage. “There are two types of days for me,” he explains. “One is where I’m out in the field looking at damage, taking photos, meeting people, seeing what’s going on, and so forth. The other variety is in-office days. There, I’m coordinating with the team, collaborating on different situations, and assisting others.”
A lot of projects, says Frank, concern fires and/or weather-related events, such as tornadoes, hail, flooding, or hurricanes. “I think the most interesting cases are the large, multi-alarm fires, such as what you see in apartment complexes, although I’ve always been fascinated by the work involved during catastrophes. Much of what I worked on previously involved local fires, but when a big weather event happens, it demands another level of coordination and engagement as we have to make important logistical decisions about who is sent out, who stays back at the office, and so on.”
When property damage occurs, there’s sometimes no telling what you’ll see. “I’ll never forget the time where I went out to an air force base, where, late at night, a Blackhawk helicopter crashed into a control tower. The blades of the aircraft had shattered into countless pieces, some as small as coins and others about the size of your hand. Some of them had been thrown as far as a quarter of a mile away, and, at one point, a colleague and I found ourselves tracing a piece that had traveled through five walls in the adjacent building, which had just recently been renovated.”
Frank also spent a considerable amount of time consulting on damage and repairs following the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. “Growing up in the NYC metropolitan area, I was honored to work on many projects surrounding the towers as well as desk reviews of tenant improvements within the towers,” said Frank.
Outside of work, Frank spends a lot of time involved in his kids’ athletic activities. He has four children who are all part of multi-season sports teams. “I love watching them play and almost never miss a game,” says Frank. “When I am not watching my kids compete in sports, I like to travel, mostly to somewhere with a beach. My hobbies, when I have the time for them, include saltwater fishing and driving my 1995 Jeep Wrangler.”

“Success matters most to me in life – it allows me to enable my loved ones to succeed, too, and it helps me to pass along life experiences, skills, and lessons in character to my children.”
