Stephen O’Malley is a Senior Managing Director in J.S. Held’s Global Investigations Practice. He has engaged on some of the largest multinational investigations and is a testifying expert in the areas of analysis and restoration of electronic data, electronic discovery best practices, and testing of related computer software. He is an expert eDiscovery practitioner and data analyst. He has significant experience in major fraud and corruption investigations including FCPA, Ponzi schemes, DOJ and SEC investigations; in multijurisdictional litigations; in provision of evidence for litigation support; and in advanced data analysis.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the investigations, commercial litigation industry in the United States, Europe, and Asia, including establishing an Electronic Discovery division for a Global consulting firm; founding a digital investigations firm; and holding senior positions in global consulting firms based in New York.

During his last appointment with a global consulting firm, his main responsibilities included the testing and deployment of state-of-the-art technology solutions to aid in the review and analysis of electronic evidence; building a team of professionals to deliver client focused service offerings; and performing digital investigations.

Stephen is an accomplished public speaker, having made numerous presentations throughout the United States on a broad range of topics including electronic discovery best practices, foreign language considerations in large document reviews, advanced data analytics, computer forensics, and technology’s role in government investigations.
