Sean Donohue

Sean M. Donohue is a construction claims expert specializing in construction schedule delay and cost damage quantification analysis. He regularly consults on construction disputes and also provides construction advisory services to construction contractors, owners, insurers, and attorneys. Sean’s diverse experience includes hi-rise and building construction, as well as projects related to industrial, rail, power, highway, wastewater, school, and aviation construction.

Prior to J.S. Held, Sean was the President and Founder of Donohue Consulting LLC, which was acquired by J.S. Held in 2017. He also held positions with several domestic and international consulting firms, including FTI Consulting, Inc. and KPMG LLP. Before transitioning into consulting, Sean began his career at Skanska USA Civil, where he served as an estimator, field engineer, superintendent and project engineer on various projects.

Sean holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Georgia Tech and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Columbia University. He is a former Lieutenant with the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps/Seabees and previously served on the New York City School Construction Authority’s panel of mediators, chairing more than 20 construction mediations in that capacity. Sean is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) and the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Forum on the Construction Industry.
