Ryan Murphy is a corporate and political investigation professional with over 15 years of experience leading complex business intelligence, due diligence, threat assessment, competitive intelligence, and litigation support projects throughout the U.S. and Canada. He has provided actionable intelligence and detailed analysis to clients in a wide range of industries including the financial, energy, technology, media, and legal sectors.
Prior to joining J.S. Held, Ryan managed the U.S. and Canadian investigations team at a global risk management consultancy, based out of the firm’s Houston office. Earlier in his career, Ryan worked for a political opposition research firm in Austin, Texas where he performed on-the-ground and desktop-based research on officeholders and candidates at every level of government across the U.S., producing comprehensive reports and recommendations used by media consultants and campaign strategists.
Ryan is a senior member of the U.S. Business Intelligence practice at J.S. Held. He is focused on the collection and analysis of public record information in support of pre-transaction/partnership due diligence investigations; assisting law firm clients with asset tracing in support of legal and arbitration proceedings; leading extensive threat and exposure assessment programs for corporate executives and other high-net-worth individuals; and managing stakeholder mapping exercises in support of threat assessments and market entry/exit analysis.
