Rick Afenir has nearly 35 years of construction experience in new school construction and modernizations, expansions, commercial, and public works. Rick provides consulting abilities and expertise in all aspects of a construction project, including project design, planning, estimating, generating and maintaining CPM schedules, subcontractor coordination, billings, change order negotiations, Liaison for post-construction relations and project closeout. Rick has extensive knowledge with the public bidding process as well as the public works arena working with risk managers, owners, sureties, architects, and engineers. Rick currently serves as the Southern California Area Lead in J.S. Held's Building Consulting practice.
Prior to joining J.S. Held, Rick’s talents served as a Senior Project Manager delivering multi-million-dollar projects under the Construction Management, Design/Build, Lease/Lease Back and Hard-Bid methods. Rick’s involvement in various construction projects including K-12 schools, airports and runways, police stations and community centers provides insight and management skills for the investigation/consultation of various types of property damage.
