Michael Helvert joined J.S. Held in May of 2022 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of GPW. Michael is a disputes analyst at J.S. Held, focusing on multi-jurisdictional asset tracing, due diligence, and litigation support. Prior to joining J.S.Held, he was working as a litigation funder where he analyzed and reviewed a range of legal cases for funding.

Michael specializes in commercial disputes focusing on multi-jurisdictional asset tracing, due diligence, and litigation support. Prior to joining J.S. Held, he was working at a UK litigation funder where he analyzed and reviewed a range of legal cases for funding. Recent experience includes aiding a European company in recovering an arbitral award from a South American Sovereign, mapping out sovereign assets and assessing the likelihood of asset recoverability in a North African state, reporting on the prospects of enforcement in an Eastern European state, and carrying out due diligence in relation to individuals involved in a Bilateral Investment Treaty claim against a Caribbean state.

Michael is fluent in Arabic, Spanish, and Portuguese. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP University and an MA in Arabic and Classics from the University of St Andrews.
