Melissa is an experienced communications professional with a proven track record for delivering winning proposals while meeting tight deadlines, managing conflicting demands and leading cross-functional, remote teams. She is a skilled project manager, marketing strategist and data analyst.
As the proposal team lead, Melissa is responsible for managing, strategizing and collaborating with a dynamic group of professionals to deliver high-quality submittals that win work.
Prior to joining J.S. Held, Melissa spent two decades working in communications—journalism, media relations, digital media, ad campaigns, event planning, internal communications, program development, strategic planning, proposal management, public involvement and market strategy. Her diverse background brings a holistic perspective to her work and team.
Melissa holds a Professional Certification from the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), as well as a M.A. in Journalism/Strategic Communication from the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
