Max Martin joined J.S. Held in May of 2022 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of GPW. Max specializes in investigative work in Asia, primarily focusing on asset tracing, pre-transaction due diligence, and general investigations. He has worked on numerous complex, domestic, and cross-border assignments in Asia across disparate industries. He is well-versed in navigating challenging public records and data landscapes in the region. Max has significant experience in China, where he worked for the British Embassy and a number of other organizations across the British network, including the China-Britain Business Council and the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong.
His recent work includes numerous asset tracing investigations into defaulting parties across the region on behalf of corporate, financial, and legal clients, profiling of Asian state-owned entities and their commercial and political connections, and political risk analysis in Southeast Asia for a fund manager before investment.
Max speaks English, Mandarin, and French fluently. He has earned an MA in International Relations and World History from the University of Nottingham, Ningbo Campus, and a BA in French and International Relations from Canterbury Christ Church University.
