Matthew Grespin is an environmental epidemiologist and registered nurse. He has academic and professional experience in molecular genetics, epidemiology, human health risk assessment, and clinical nursing.
Mr. Grespin's expertise focuses on identifying and characterizing potential environmental and occupational exposures, determining appropriate preventive or mitigating measures, and examining the potential human health risk associated with such exposures. He has studied subcellular protein trafficking in the context of endocrine signaling. He has examined the modifying effects of genetic mutations on the relationship between heavy metal exposure and neurological disease. He has performed or assisted in performing human health risk assessments in occupational, environmental, consumer product, and medical device settings, examining a variety of chemical, biological, and physical exposures such as fibers, persistent and volatile organic compounds, molds, and heavy metals.
In addition, he has worked as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital's medical/surgical unit. He also serves as adjunct faculty in the Community and Public Health Nursing curriculum at the University of Colorado.
