Jim Armstrong is a RIBA chartered architect in J.S. Held's Forensic Architecture practice with over thirty years of experience in construction. Twenty-four years were spent within the private architectural practice as Director of a RIBA Chartered Practice and as a CDM Consultant in construction health and safety, specializing in compliance with the CDM Regulations.

Jim is presently an Adjudicator on the UK Adjudicators Panel, the CIC Low Value Disputes Register, and the Royal Society of Ulster Architects Register.

From 2019 – 2023 Jim was an ARB Inquirer for the Architects Registration Board, providing advice to the Investigations Panel in respect of allegation of unacceptable professional conduct and /or serious professional incompetence.

Jim is also an RIBA Part III Professional Practice External Assessor at the Queen’s University of Belfast, School of the Natural & Built Environment, Architecture.
