Howard Silverstone, MBE, CPA, CFF, FCA, CFE joined J.S. Held in January of 2024 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of Forensic Resolutions, Inc. Howard is a CPA with over 40 years of experience in public accounting and forensic accounting. He is also a Chartered Accountant (England and Wales) and has experience on both sides of the Atlantic. Howard is also a certified fraud examiner and is Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has concentrated on forensic accounting since 1985. Howard regularly presents programs to the legal, accounting, and insurance industries on the calculation of damages in financial disputes and corporate fraud.
Howard Silverstone has testified at trial and deposition on many occasions, in both the United States and overseas, and has worked on matters for national, regional, and local law firms, insurance companies, and corporations.
Howard Silverstone holds an accounting degree from the City of London Polytechnic (now London Metropolitan University). He has been quoted in many publications and has written articles for many periodicals, including the Legal Intelligencer (Philadelphia), and Security Management magazine, and is co-author of three books on fraud and forensic accounting.
Howard has extensive experience in matters ranging from construction claims and the calculation of economic damages in business interruption and contract dispute matters to fraud and white-collar crime investigations, fraudulent conveyance, and real estate loan investigations. He has also specialized in assisting in entertainment industry disputes, such as copyright issues. He has extensive experience in the surety industry, as well as personal injury and wrongful death claims.
In June 2018, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appointed Howard as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the United Kingdom’s 2018 Birthday Honours List. This was awarded in recognition of Howard’s services to British business in the USA.
