Gary has been in the Construction and Insurance industry for over 45 years. He began in civil underground services and moved on to custom home building and subdivision construction. His experience includes working for Barrier Free Construction company and working for an institutional builder in the public tender market building for the Ontario Ministry of Government Services and the Department of National Defense. Previously, he has aided in the construction of new and additions on existing schools. In a span of six years, he worked as both an estimator and PM for four restoration companies. On the insurers side, he worked for Zurich Canada doing claims intake, consulting with the insureds, and maintaining the vendor network for Canada, Zurich USA as well as USAA Insurance. From there, he moved on to Intact insurance as an adjuster for Belair Direct. For 11 years he was with EllisDon as a Senior Insurance Assessment PM for the Services Division working on large loss files across Canada and mentoring regional employees. He has participated in several appraisals (hired by both insurers and public adjusters), sat as the arbitrator on a problem file, and has provided services as an expert witness to numerous law firms.
Gary is involved in estimating, project management, and onsite project monitoring. He has extensive involvement in numerous major loss assignments throughout Canada and consults on large complex insurance losses, including malls, high rises, condominiums, manufacturing, residential, agricultural, and mining.
