David Jack, a Manager in the Specialty Services group of Ocean Tomo, a part of J.S. Held, combines technical excellence, patent expertise, and business acumen to partner with in-house corporate intellectual property (IP) groups, outside counsel, and financial institutions to dig into complex systems. David oversees the Product/Technology Reverse Engineering & Testing Laboratory in Ottawa, Canada, and teams whose capabilities for testing and laboratory support are broad and mirror our technological expertise. Whether from our Ottawa facility or a remote testing site, our lab is an extension of our remarkable team of engineers and technicians with a deep understanding of wireless communication, semiconductors, systems and software, telecommunications, and many others.
David brings over ten years of experience in reverse engineering and evidence of use (EoU) documentation across various industries, with expertise in semiconductor packaging, process, and materials analysis.
Prior to joining the Ocean Tomo, a part of J.S. Held team, David performed failure analysis and reliability work in the semiconductor industry.
David holds a Bachelor of Engineering Physics and a Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University and graduated with Highest Honours. He has been awarded the Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
