Christian Torres has an architectural background, holding a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He has been in the architectural and construction industry for over 16 years. He has experience in leading construction teams in all aspects of design/construction stages, from Programming/Pre-Construction through Construction Management and closeout for projects ranging from a few thousand to 350 Million.
As an advocate for construction technology, Christian has been part of Building Information Modeling teams that focus on integrated project delivery, including data-enabled facility management document turnover.
Prior to J.S. Held, Christian held roles with architectural firms, general contractors, and owners/developers. He has managed over $750 million of projects and coordinated over 4,000,000 SF of building systems, primarily focused on multi-family high-rise buildings. Christian brings a wide range of experience and deep understanding of residential, commercial, industrial, and healthcare projects to J.S. Held and enjoys creating innovative ideas to solve complex issues and conflicts.
Christian leads teams in estimating, project management, project monitoring, and construction claims. As part of the Property Damage Consultant Team, he has assessed the physical damage to numerous properties that resulted from fire, water, weather, and construction-related incidents. He has served as an appraiser and assisted with litigation projects. Christian has extensive involvement and is most notably engaged in major loss assignments involving multi-disciplinary experts throughout the United States. His implicit experience gives him a deep understanding of the reconstruction of commercial, industrial, healthcare, and multi-unit residential projects, specifically in complex situations.
