Brian Grill is a Licensed Architect in four states and a registered Residential Designer in Nevada. With over 40 years of professional experience, he holds multiple certifications in Building Code Administration and actively participates in professional organizations related to the design and building industries. Brian has dedicated the past 25 years to forensic building failure analysis, building design and construction analysis, premises liability assessment, and surety consulting.
Brian has extensive experience presenting written and verbal expert witness testimony in trials, arbitrations, depositions, and alternate dispute resolution procedures, including mediation and AAA proceedings. He has investigated, reported, prepared for litigation, and assisted counsel with trial and deposition preparation, as well as taking depositions of opposing experts. Additionally, he has served as a neutral expert in construction disputes and litigation.
Involved in design disputes with architects, engineers, contractors, property owners, and managers, Brian has provided and defended Certificates of Merit for claims. He has participated in construction progress evaluations, value of in-place construction estimating, project management, onsite project monitoring, performance and payment bond claims analysis, expert report preparation, and expert testimony. His extensive involvement in construction defects, building failures, and major loss assignments spans several western US states. Brian has consulted on large, complex insurance and surety losses, including commercial, residential, nursing home facilities, high-rise condominiums, bonded projects, mobile home park renovations, AAA minor league baseball stadiums, and various construction defect matters.
